S-TunExSPEM: Towards an Extension of SPEM 2.0 to Model and Exchange Tunable Safety-Oriented Processes

چکیده
Prescriptive process-based safety standards (e.g. EN 50128, DO-178B, etc.) incorporate best practices to be adopted to develop safety-critical systems or software. In some domains, compliance with the standards is required to get the certificate from the certification authorities. Thus, a well-defined interpretation of the processes to be adopted is essential for certification purposes. Currently, no satisfying means allows process engineers and safety managers to model and exchange safety-oriented processes. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes S-TunExSPEM, an extension of Software & Systems Process Engineering MetaModel 2.0 (SPEM 2.0) to allow users to specify safety-oriented processes for the development of safety-critical systems in the context of safety standards according to the required safety level. Moreover, to enable exchange for simulation, monitoring, execution purposes, S-TunExSPEM concepts are mapped onto XML Process Definition Language 2.2 (XPDL 2.2) concepts. Finally, a case-study from the avionics domain illustrates the usage and effectiveness of the proposed extension.

Advancing Object-Oriented Standards Toward Agent-Oriented Methodologies: SPEM 2.0 on SODA
Building ad-hoc design processes and methodologies has become a key challenge in Software Engineering, and several efforts are being made for developing appropriate meta-models both for methodologies and development processes. The Software Process Engineering Meta-model (SPEM) – an OMG objectoriented standard – is a natural candidate for representing, comparing and reusing design processes in a...
متن کاملSPEM 2.0 Extension for Pervasive Information Systems
Pervasive computing is a research field of computing technology that aims to achieve a new computing paradigm. In this paradigm, the physical environment has a high degree of pervasiveness and availability of computers and other information technology (IT) devices, usually with communication capabilities. Pervasive Information Systems (PIS), composed by these kinds of devices, bring issues that...
متن کاملUsing and Extending the SPEM Specifications to Represent Agent Oriented Methodologies
Situational Method Engineering for constructing ad-hoc agent oriented design process is grounded on a well defined set of phases that are principally based on reuse of components coming from existing agent design processes that have to be stored in a repository. The identification and extraction of these components could take large advantage from the existence of a standardized representation o...
متن کاملeSPEM - A SPEM Extension for Enactable Behavior Modeling
OMG’s SPEM – by means of its (semi-)formal notation – allows for a detailed description of development processes and methodologies, but can only be used for a rather coarse description of their behavior. Concepts for a more fine-grained behavior model are considered out of scope of the SPEM standard and have to be provided by other standards like BPDM/BPMN or UML. However, a coarse granularity ...
متن کاملModélisation rigoureuse en SPEM de procédé de développement
Mastering software process is a keypoint in the improvement of application quality. OMG proposes the SPEM metamodel to model software processes. Unfortunately, it is a high level specification which lacks a formal description of its semantics. It is thus difficult to use SPEM. So, we propose a restriction of SPEM that clarifies its concepts and which is completed with a formalization of its sem...
